This site-specific audio artwork was created by artist Chloë Bass for the Skirball Cultural Center’s presentation of Chloë Bass: Wayfinding. Listen to the audio artwork as you walk the Skirball campus or enjoy the work remotely. There is no wrong way to consider the questions, statements, and ideas presented in the exhibition.
Wayfinding is informed by time Bass spent at the Skirball and by her deep research into issues of water regulation, especially pertaining to the city of Los Angeles. The audio artwork also carries forward Bass’s investigations into control, gentrification, and memory loss, which were partially inspired by her two grandmothers’ experiences with memory loss.
